His rugged masculinity and charming demeanor made men admire him and women swoon as he starred in numerous iconic films such as “Gone with the Wind,” “It Happened One Night,” and “Mutiny on the Bounty,” to name a few. He halted his career during World War Two to enlist in the Army Air Force as a private, and flew combat missions over Europe as a B-17 Flying Fortress gunner.
Today, on the occasion of his 122nd birthday, we celebrate the life and legacy of the one and only Clark Gable. He remains a symbol of Hollywood’s Golden Age and his performances continue to captivate audiences.
